Children/Youth Faith Formation

Many people are needed to provide this important ministry to children and families.  Click here for information on specific volunteer opportunities.

Our faith formation classes start in September each year and run through May.

Children and Youth (English)
 Sunday Morning Faith Formation for children and youth from the age of 3 (must be toilet trained)
through fifth grade, and middle school (sixth-eighth grade) will be at St. Richard, 11-11:55 a.m. Sundays beginning Sept. 15 and running through May. (Mass can be attended at 10 a.m. in English or noon in Spanish.)
 First Reconciliation and First Communion Preparation Classes for second through eighth grade children and youth will be 9:30-11 a.m. Saturdays at St. Peter, biweekly, Sept. 14 through April. Students not attending a Catholic school must also enroll in the Sunday Morning Faith Formation program.
 Confirmation Classes for ninth through 12th grade students will be 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesdays at St. Peter, Sept. 18 through May. Confirmation preparation is a two-year program.
 Baptism for Older Children & Youth
Children 7 or older who are interested in being baptized will be prepared to receive Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation in OCIC (formerly RCIC). The program meets Wednesday evenings at St. Peter, Sept. 18 through May.
 Family Faith Formation
Family Faith Formation is coming this Fall! More information will be available soon.
Adult (English)
 OCIA (formerly RCIA), for those who are not Catholic but interested in learning more about the
Catholic Faith with the opportunity to become Catholic, will meet weekly on Thursday evenings at St. Richard from September to May.
 Bible Study “The Eucharist-Where is that in the Bible?”
Tuesdays, Sept. 24 through Oct. 29 in the youth room at St Richard. We’ll have both morning (8:40-10:10 a.m.) and evening (6:10-7:40 p.m.) sessions each week.

Este otoño ofreceremos clases de primera comunión y confirmación en español para cualquier persona en los grados K-12 en dos ubicaciones. Las clases comienzan el domingo 15 de septiembre. 
En Asunción tendremos catecismo dominical de 9 a 11 a.m., seguido de Misa a las 11 a.m. 
En San Pedro, habrá catequesis dominical de 11 a.m. a 12:45 p.m., seguido de misa a las 1 p.m.
